Everyone wants to know: If you're one of the uninitiated, FarmVille is one of the hottest free games available on Facebook. Unlike many popular online games, there are no weapons, no quests to solve, and no real role playing involved. FarmVille is a social game that you play with your friends on Facebook. It brings us back to a simpler way of life where we earned our living from the land, and neighbors helped neighbors. You must plow, plant and harvest crops, tend your animals and build up money doing so.
Players gift each other trees, plants, animals and decorative items for each others' farms--which is why having neighbors is so coveted. Each of these items give you more coins when you harvest them, and in turn, you can buy more items to give your farm its own unique look.
In fact, you can't even expand your farm without adding more neighbors. This is why it's tempting to look for a neighbor hack to add more friends rapidly.
Penalties for FarmVille Neighbor Hackers!
If you've exhausted your own friends list, you may be tempted to find a "neighbor hack for FarmVille" to add more friends. Don't do this! If you try to hack FarmVille, you will face losing your account and all the hours of work you've spent building up your farm. In fact, hacking FarmVille is next to impossible since it is hosted on Zynga's servers, and you can bet your FarmVille dollars that they are going to make it very tough for you to get into there. Who knows? You might even face losing your Facebook account--it's just not worth it!
Find New FarmVille Neighbors Fast--Without a Neighbor Hack
I'm going to tell you a helpful way to find more neighbors : Go to Zynga's (creator of FarmVille) FarmVille forum and register. Look for a thread that says "Finding Neighbors." By using this thread, you can legally add hundreds of fellow farmers. Of course, be careful doing this. Most of these people are legitimate players, but if you start getting a lot of weird messages, don't be afraid to take them off your friends list.
Add Unknown FarmVille Neighbors While Protecting Your Privacy Get More FarmVille Neighbors--No Worries!
You can sign up in a number of forums to add new neighbors to your FarmVille neighbor list. This is great, more neighbors mean a bigger, fancier farm--but in doing this, you are exposing your Facebook account to people you don't know. Here's the solution to ramp up your FV neighbor list and protect your privacy at the same time.
1. Open up Facebook to the home page. On the left side of the page under the section where it says News Feed, Status Update, etc. click on the link that says "more."
2. When the link opens, look at the bottom of this section where it says "Create New List." Click on it.
3. Title your new list "FarmVille Neighbors", "FarmVille Friends" or whatever you would like to call your list.
4. After you've created your list, look on the top right hand section of the home page where you'll see "Settings." Click on it, then click on the drop down box where it says, "Privacy Settings."
5. When the Privacy page opens, select, "Profile."
6. When the window opens, you will see boxes such as " Basic Info", "Personal Info", etc. Click the drop down box in each category and select "Customize."
7. A new box will pop up asking "Who Can See This?" At the bottom of the box, you will see the option "Except These People." Type in the name of your friend's list, and select it.
8. Repeat for every option except wall posts. You want your FV neighbors to be able to see your wall posts, so they can see your ribbons, share the wealth, etc.
9. When you are finished this, click the tab that says "Contact Information." Repeat the above steps for all the options on the contact information box.
10. Ok, you're almost done! Now, whenever you add a new neighbor, add them to the list before you confirm them as a friend.
Now you can add unknown neighbors to ramp up your XP points without sweating about losing your privacy!

How To Be A Good CityVille Neighbor And Have More Energy
If you haven't already figured it out, being a good neighbor is one of the most important aspects of most of the big Facebook games. And it's more important in CityVille than any other game. So much of your success lies with the ability for you and all your neighbors to work together and the more friends you have, the faster you'll progress.
The biggest obstacle with CityVille is your limited energy. You just never seem to have enough to accomplish everything and you end up having to wait until more energy builds up. By that time, you have even more tasks you need to take care of - your crops are ready to harvest, you need to build silos - and it just seems like you'll never get it all done.
You're not the only one who feels that sense of impending doom as you watch your energy points shrivel up and die. Everyone feels that way. It's the way the game is designed and that's what keeps everyone coming back for more - that challenge to beat the energy clock!
One way to help you hold onto that energy longer is for you and all of your friends to be good neighbors. It costs you energy points every time you chop down a tree or harvest a crop or collect a rent in you own city. But it doesn't cost you any energy at all to visit your neighbor's city and do those same tasks for them. Now, if you all worked together when you visit each other's cities you'd save each other a ton of energy!
It takes a little more time to be a good neighbor. If you generally only visit your friend's cities once or twice a week you'll need to pick up the pace and help them out every day. And instead of just popping in and clicking on the first rent collections you see you'll have to take a look around and see what really needs done first.
Bakeries, for example, are harvested every 10 minutes. When you only get 12 energy points per hour, you're talking about using half of them just to keep up with your bakery. And trees are another aggravating problem. Every time your neighbor expands his city he's going to have to chop down a few trees. And that takes up a lot of his energy.
In some ways CityVille is just like a real city. If we'd all look out for one another and help each other out, we'd have a lot more energy to use for the fun things in life!

Love Thy CityVille Neighbor and Look For The Red Hearts
The term 'Love Thy Neighbor' takes on a special meaning in CityVille. Soon after you start expanding your city you'll come to realize that you just can't do it all alone. And, as you can imagine, if you need help running your city, your neighbors probably need help running theirs. So you need to start looking for the red hearts when you visit your neighbors.
CityVille, like most Zynga games, is designed to encourage interaction among the players. You play the game on Facebook, which is a social networking site, so they're encouraging you to socialize. And one of best ways to do that is by visiting your neighbors' cities to help them out with little chores, like harvesting their crops or collecting their rents.
One of the most common complaints among hard-core CityVille players has always been that, when you have multiple neighbors visit your city, they're apt to all click on the same 5 crops or collect the same 5 rents. Well, a crop can only be harvested one time and you can only collect rent once - or you're going to have some very angry tenants! So, if you have 5 or 6 neighbors all clicking on the same crop or rent, only one neighbor counts and the rest are just wasting energy.
Fortunately, Zynga listened and created the little, red 'Get Help' hearts. Players can use these hearts to mark specific crops or rents they want harvested and when their neighbors visit they know exactly what to do. When each heart is clicked it disappears from view so it won't be clicked on again. This lets each neighbor who visits your city know exactly what you want them to do and it saves the city owner a ton of energy that would otherwise be wasted in duplicate clicks.
Now the problem is getting neighbors to click on those red hearts when they visit each city. How many times do you just open your friend's city and click on the first 5 things you see? Most people do! You need to start expanding the screen so you can see the entire city and look for those red hearts. Otherwise, you're not really helping your friend if you end up clicking on the same 5 spots that some else already clicked on. The next time you go visiting, be a good CityVille neighbor. Take a few seconds to look around and click on the red hearts first.

Love Thy CityVille Neighbor And Place Your Red Hearts
Everyone knows the Golden Rule and in CityVille one of the ways you can love your neighbor is to place your Red Hearts around your city. The Love Thy Neighbor challenge and the big, red, 'Get Help' hearts are Zynga's answer to one of the most common complaints among CityVille players and it's a great feature when used properly. Like any real city, it takes lots of energy and lots of goods to keep CityVille up and running. And, just like any real city, your CityVille resources do have their limits. The challenge is in managing those resources as your city expands.
Helping your neighbors by harvesting their crops or collecting their rents is an important part of playing the game because it saves your neighbor that much more energy. But the biggest complaint has been that multiple neighbors tend to click on the same crops or collect the same rents. Since a crop can only be harvested one time and a rent can only be collected once, when more than one neighbor performs that same task it's wasted energy.
Most people who play CityVille want to visit their neighbors and lend them a helping hand. They want to save them that extra energy because then, that same neighbor, will turn around and return the favor. It's frustrating knowing that you might be doing the best you can to help someone out but someone else already beat you to the punch.
That's where the red hearts come into play. You've probably seen them in your neighbors' cities but are you placing them in your own? Using these red 'Get Help' hearts to mark exactly the crops you want harvested and exactly the rents you want collected helps your neighbors do exactly the tasks you need accomplished. It makes them feel like they've really helped you out and it saves them the time they would have spent searching your city looking for something that needs to be done. And, in the end, it saves you that much more energy by eliminating duplicate clicking.
To place the red hearts in your city just click on the tools menu - the big arrow in the bottom left corner of your screen. Then, click on the red heart to select. Now, just click on the farm plot that you want harvested or watered, or click on the house or businesses that you want collected and you'll see a little red heart appear. The number of hearts you can use is determined by your reputation rating and you can increase it by clicking in the hearts in your neighbors' cities.
Oh, and don't worry. When you click back over to your other tools the little red hearts will disappear from your screen. That's just so they won't be a distraction for you while you're working on your city. But your neighbors can still see them and they'll love you for it!
