I hear many FarmVille players complaining about other farmers using a special program to snatch up prizes off the news feed before any other players get a fair chance to claim them.
I will not mention any so called programs by name, that would just be giving them free advertising and I do not want to contribute to the problem.
There is a simple solution to this problem, just take them off your friends list. Do not worry about hurting their feelings and do not waste your time explaining to them why you are no longer their neighbor. They will replace you with another gamer. They know where to find more game players, they are a dime a dozen if you know where to look.
There is another way that will let you go undetected by the cheater and you get the satisfaction of beating them at their own game. In Facebook, you can "create a list". Create your own list of FarmVille players. You can also apply this to any other game played via Facebook.
Instead of publishing the game rewards to everyone or friends only, use the customize feature, select Specific People and choose the "FarmVille players" list to you created publish to. You control who is on the list and more importantly who is not. You can tell who is just along for the free ride. The ones that never send gifts or fertilize your farm.
If you discover someone on your FarmVille list is a cheater, just remove their name from your FarmVille player list and they will no longer receive any of your FarmVille listings. You can still be their friend and neighbor. They will never know they have been banned by you because they never see or pay attention to who posted the bonus.
This will protect your FarmVille postings, so your honest neighbors can get them.
If you play FarmVille a lot, like I do, you can set your "FarmVille players" list as a default list for posting to. Then you do not have to change it every time you post. Just remember to change it when you want to post pictures of your vacation!
