If you've been on Facebook for any amount of time then I'm sure one of your friends has invited you to play FarmVille with them. It's a game where you can connect with people on Facebook and build your own virtual FarmVille farm while you interact with others.
You can post your stats, get others to join in on the fun and show people how well you're doing on FarmVille, but what does any of that mean when you step away from your computer? If it's in the middle of the night or the weather is horrible, sure I can understand you tending to your FarmVille farm. If you have nothing to do, it's nice to be able to log in and play some FarmVille with your friends but will it really cure your boredom?
It's great that you can connect with friends and family on Facebook through FarmVille but whatever happened to getting outside and meeting up with your friends in person? Playing FarmVille on Facebook with your friends can be fun, but interacting with them in person is a level of fun you'll never achieve with FarmVille.
There's a lot you can do on FarmVille but there's so much more to explore in the great outdoors, so you'll never run out of things to do. Your FarmVille farm will always be there but you should never waste a beautiful day if you've got free time to get outside. And imagine how much you'll have to share whenever you come back from a hiking adventure or a camping trip.
Then you can post your pictures, videos or a little trip recap to your Facebook wall and show others what you've been up to. I guarantee that you'll have a few friends comment that they want to go with you next time. That's a whole lot more rewarding than getting someone else to start playing Farmville with you.

So if you're having a hard time coming up with something to do, you can head over to that site for some ideas. There are some great pictures, videos and full trip reports that give you all the details you need.
You don't have to give up playing FarmVille, but you have to admit that sometimes tending to your virtual farm really isn't that satisfying. Now you have a great alternative to FarmVille; one that I'm sure your friends would love to join in on. So if you're bored and have some free time, you should head on over to and start planning your next outdoor adventure. Don't forget to invite your friends too!
