This depends on what your aim is. For example, you might want to generate the most goods because you have a shortage. Or you might want to use crops to help you to level up fast. You may even want to use crops to get coins although I personally think this is a waste of time and there are better ways. Whatever you want to do, in this article I will tell you what is the best crop in CityVille according to your requirements.
I Need More Goods
The best crop for goods generation are Wheat and Peas. Unfortunately, you cannot access these until later levels. So most people will find Corn to be a better bet. You can see this if you go around your neighbors and see what they are growing. Most of the time I see peas, wheat or corn. I rarely see anything else.
I Need More XP
If you want to level up fast then the best crop question is not so straightforward. There are many crops that offer 3 XP when you harvest them. For example, Strawberries come to harvest in just 5 minutes and do this. However, you will burn up a lot of energy this way. If you are logged in most of the day then it may be a good bet. Be warned that the goods generated are pretty paltry so only do this if you don't need goods.
Pumpkins may be a better choice for some. Not only do you get 3 XP but you also receive 3 energy too. The only downside is that it takes 18 hours for them to come to harvest. If you plant them all at the same time then this is a poor strategy but if you have many plots and stagger them then you will have no shortage of energy or XP. Only choose Pumpkins if you have the discipline for this.
I Need More Coins
Strawberries will return you coins quickly but you will use a lot of energy. Peas will give you a reward of the Corner Store when harvested which can be sold immediately for 5,000 coins. However, most people at the levels 25 and above when Peas are available will not typically need a lot of money from their crops. Once again, regardless of your level, I advise you to look at businesses and especially franchises for making money. Crops are not the way to do it.
