There are many fish available for you to choose from. But some are a total waste of time. To determine the "good fish" you'll have to do a bit of math. You can get that rate by getting the maximum XP a fish can get when reaching adulthood (age 4) and dividing it by the total amount of time it takes for it to become an adult. For example, the Hawaiian Hogfish maximum XP is 612 and the total amount of time it takes to reach adulthood is 124.8 hours. Those numbers gives the Hogfish an XP/hour rate of 10.10. The higher XP per hour rate a fish has the better return in investment it will give you in terms of XP.
On the other hand, if your goal is to earn as many coins as possible, then you should find fish with the highest coins per hour rate. The formula is the similar to the XP per hour and all you have to change is the numerator (just replace XP with coins in the equation...). Once you get the coins per hour for all fish then you are all set. Just get the one with the highest coins per hour rate and raise those fish!
So that is all it takes for you to determine the best fish in Fishville. If you want to level up quickly, raise fish with the highest XP per hour rate. If you want to earn a lot of coins fast, just raise fish with the highest coins per hour rate.
