I play many of the games from Zynga on a regular basis and FishVille has become one of my favorites. As with all the Zynga games, things are just a lot more fun if you can level up fast and you do that by increasing your experience points. Obviously, you will increase your experience points naturally just by playing the game, but there are many things to do that will speed this process up.
Maturing Fish
As your fish mature and you sell them, you will see you are awarded both experience points and coins. You will be able to make more money if you let your fish grow until they are adults. You will still gain experience points and coins if you sell your fish before they are adults, but you will not make as much. If you want to see what level of growth your fish are at, simply hold the cursor on top of the fish in question.
What Fish Should I Buy?
If you are new to playing FishVille, you may have a lot of confusion over what is the best choice when it comes to buying fish. Look to see which ones will give you the most experience points and the most cash. You will often find that your better choice is fish with a shorter growth time. Just make sure that when you pick a fish that have a short maturing time, you will be able to be on your computer for the feeding times as your fish are growing.
If you have to be gone for a period of time and will not be able to be on your computer, you may want to purchase fish with a long maturing cycle so they don't need to be fed as frequently. Also, it is a good idea to put fish with a shorter maturing cycle in your first tank so you will have a better chance of your neighbors feeding your fish when you can't.
Neighbors
Make sure to visit your neighbor's tanks regularly to gain extra experience points, cash and bonuses. There are different things you can do when you visit your neighbor's tanks. You will get rewards for whatever task you are asked to do, and for clicking on the treasure chest whenever you see one. You can also gain awards that will have a good payout when you clean enough scum off your neighbor's tanks and when you feed their hungry fish. If you help your neighbors on a regular basis, there is a good chance they will do the same for you in return.
