It's tourist season in CityVille and your hotel should be packed, but when you open the doors you can hear crickets in the halls. You've done everything you can think of to get more guests but you still have to harvest 14 more times before you can upgrade. It seems like a never-ending battle! How can you get more tourists for your CityVille hotel so you can accomplish your upgrade goals and be done with it?!
Take a look at the placement of your hotel. There are two places where it's most profitable to locate your inn and that's either near the beach or near your cruise ship. Locating your hotel anywhere else in your city is a death sentence for sure. In a real city, tourists congregate near the beach and the waterfront. So your CityVille beach is a big tourist attraction and, when you release your Cruise Ship, tourists flock into your city.
Do you have plenty of businesses and attractions surrounding your hotel? Think about what tourists do when they visit a real city - they look for shopping and entertainment. The amusement park attractions that are currently being released are a great draw and you can get some of them free by completing quests. Not only do they attract tourists to your hotel, but they also provide increased payouts when you harvest your hotel.
Surrounding your hotel with the right businesses is important. You need to keep those businesses stocked at all times. If not, your tourists will go elsewhere to shop and they won't stay in the area of your hotel.
The problem is energy. In CityVille, the energy crunch is on and it's always in short supply. Trying to keep all those shops surrounding your hotel stocked at all times requires a lot of additional energy. You have to spend energy to harvest those businesses and you have to spend energy harvesting crops to keep them supplied with goods.
To help ease the energy shortage, surround your hotel with businesses that use at least 130 goods. Don't bother with those little coffee shops and bakeries and diners - unless you're trying to upgrade them faster, too. Instead, concentrate on using business that need a lot of goods and take longer to harvest. This way, you'll always have open businesses around your CityVille hotel and the tourists will stay in that area and become guests.
