Farmville is an online game created by Zynga which is played through Facebook as of 2010. It is a social-networking game that relies heavily on interaction with neighbors, whom you can add from your Facebook friends. Players create an avatar farmer, then complete a wide variety of tasks to expand and develop their farms and earn rewards. Ribbons are just one of the awards or recognitions that players can earn from completing different tasks around their farms.
Instructions:
1) Choose the ribbon you wish to complete. Farmville is constantly adding and updating to the ribbons you can complete, so check back often to see whether a new ribbon has been added. You can see available ribbons by clicking on the icon with the blue ribbon on it in the bottom right corner of your Farmville screen. As of December 2010, there were 40 ribbons available.
2) Check your ribbon box to determine what level of ribbon you are on and whether you have completed any of the required tasks already. Because ribbons are given for completing many tasks, unless you are a brand new player, you have probably already worked toward or even earned many ribbons. For each ribbon category, there are four levels: yellow, white, red, and blue. Your ribbon box will tell you which you have completed and what you need to do to get to the next level.
3) Begin completing tasks to work toward your goal. This will be different for every ribbon you try to complete. For example, to complete the Fenced In Ribbon, you must place fences on your farm: five for the Yellow Ribbon, 50 (additional) for the White Ribbon, 100 (additional) for the Red Ribbon, and 250 (additional) for the Blue Ribbon. Each time you earn a ribbon, you get a reward, in the form of XP, coins, or decorations. As you work toward your ribbon, your ribbon box will contain a continually updated status on your progress.
Tips & Warnings
The ease of earning ribbons varies widely, depending on your playing personality and level. For example, someone with a lot of friends might very quickly earn the Local Celebrity Ribbon, while a person who enjoys growing a lot of crops on his farm might quickly complete the Need For Seed Ribbon. Choose ribbon missions based on your skills.
