It takes several chops to fell a tree in the online game "FrontierVille," but you can earn or purchase Sharp Axes to greatly reduce the number of chops needed to knock down a tree. These axes can be earned through a cross-promotional deal with another Zynga game called "Mafia Wars." After reaching a certain level in "Mafia Wars," you earn one Sharp Axe to use in "FrontierVille." You can then earn one Sharp Axe for every level gained in "Mafia Wars," with a limit of one axe every 16 hours.
Instructions:
1) Start a game of "FrontierVille" or log in to your current game. A pop-up message offering you a Sharp Axe in exchange for gaining levels in the "Mafia Wars" game is displayed. Click "Yes" and "Mafia Wars" appears in a new window.
2) Play through "Mafia Wars" until you reach level six. If you're already a regular player of "Mafia Wars" and are above level six, play the game until you gain one more experience level. A message appears saying that you have earned a Sharp Axe. Click the "Go Collect!" button to be returned to your "FrontierVille" game.
3) Approach any tree you want to chop down and click your inventory button. Scroll through your items until you see the Sharp Axe, then click "Use" to chop down the tree. One chop from a Sharp Axe is roughly equivalent to four chops from a regular axe, and you can only use each Sharp Axe once before it disappears.
Tips & Warnings
You can also go to the "FrontierVille" Marketplace and buy five Sharp Axes for 50 Lucky Horseshoes. The cost of Lucky Horseshoes depends on which deal you choose; you can generally get large amounts of them for a better deal than you can when you only buy a few at a time. You can currently buy 75 Lucky Horseshoes for $6. You can also sign up for several promotional deals through Facebook that offer Lucky Horseshoes as a reward.
