Farmville Planting Guide

Farmville is a game played on the social networking site, Facebook. As of January 2011, there are over 58 million active players. Success in Farmville is achieved by gaining experience points and coins for taking good care of your crops and animals. Knowing which crops to plant is important, as price and growing time varies for each. Learning the basics of planting in Farmville will ensure that your farm is successful.

Instructions:

1) Prepare your land for planting. There are three types of land in Farmville. Grass is land that has not been farmed; fallow land has been tilled and farmed, but is being left empty to replenish the soil; and plowed land is ready for planting. To make grass and fallow land ready for planting, you must plow the land first. Click on the green "Plow Tool" at the bottom right of the screen, and move the arrow over the land to select a square to plow. Click on the square. The grass or fallow land becomes a plowed square.

2) Browse available crops to plant. Some crops are locked and cannot be purchased until you reach a certain level. Click the "Market" button in the bottom right corner. Click the "Seeds & Trees" tab to view all the crops. Crops available for purchase have a "Buy" button, while others have a "Locked" button.

3) Compare the prices and growing times of the crops. To make the most money, choose a crop that is cheap, takes little time to grow and pays out at a high rate. If you want to gain experience points, choose a crop that grows quickly and rewards you with a lot of experience points.

4) Click the "Buy" button for the crop you want to plant. This takes you to your farm. Click on a square of plowed land to plant your crop. Continue clicking on plowed squares to keep planting.
